Choosing the right Domain Name

It can be challenging finding appropriate name that represents your presence.  Most people choose their named based on the their company name, but that may not be the most appropriate fit.  You should have a domain name with your company name in it, and you may want to consider another name that point to your site that is friendly, catchy, and strikes your audience’s attention. There are really a few things to remember when selecting the name once you have decided the direction you would like to take:

  1. Keep it short.  Try to find a domain name that has 6 characters or less.  This will be a challenge.
  2. Try to get a “.com” domain.  With all of the domain suffix’s out there this is the one that most people still use today, and most don’t know that it is pre programmed in internet browsers to translate the “CTRL + Enter” keys to .com suffix.
  3. Try to make the name still relevant to you do, your service and/or product provides for your audience
